red wine : Summer is here. And New Rooms. And Amazing Art.red winered wine Summer is here and we just celebrated in style with cocktails, new rooms and artwork throughout … So fun and such a wonderful way to celebrate the coming summer, with the entire village invited to open house to look at our 17 newly decorated rooms and drink local wines, eat local cheese and local fudge and just be happy with us … About 175 people joined us for curated tours of the rooms (thanks Alex got Randy and Anthony) and plenty of others to spend time with us and munch on the tasty treat thanks be the fantastic winemaker of Paumanok Vineyards (another guy family business that continues the serious legacy of winemaking in the East End), our lovely Donna from Fat Ass Fudge, whose goat cheese fudge is simply divine and to be had throughout our hotel room here at the hotel and the delicious Blue Duck Bakery to bake our lovely bread to the restaurant on a daily basis. The cheese was to die for and came from the fantastic Mecox Dairy Farm, whereby the final touch for all the Foodies. We treat our customers as regulars as that is what we want them to be and it certainly felt like that this past Saturday. Especially since the fabulous photographer Jacob Felländer (jacobfelländer) who exhibited his work in the dining room, lounge and the garden is a childhood friend of mine and my parents’ best friends came in from Sweden to celebrate the event with us so that our guests were actually regulars … And the beautiful thing is that so many of you expressed how it is how you feel c / o Maidstone and The Living Room. As if this is your place and we are so lucky to be here. Which is true on all accounts. It is your place (as one of our regular customers for 10 years back reminded me of when she insists that she will always keep coming no matter what she has been here way longer than me …), and we are so lucky to be here. Every day I remind myself that there is something so special with the Hamptons in general and c / o Maidstone specifically. As of last weekend we now offer a fresh juice bar in the bar area and coffee and tea with muffins and croissants to go. And our international newspapers and magazines are just around the corner, so gear up for summer because it is almost here. With yoga, cycling cocktails and summer sun in the shop.
